 Garbage Pickup
The City of Watseka contracts with Allied Waste (Republic Services) for city garbage pickup services.

All residential pick ups must start using the blue rolling totes. Allied Waste is in the process of automating pick up. At this time extra totes are available at no additional charge. If you need an extra tote please call City Hall. THE TOTES ARE TO STAY AT THE HOUSE THEY ARE DELIVERED TO, IF YOU MOVE DO NOT TAKE THE TOTE WITH YOU! TOTES ARE TO BE ON THE CURB BY 7:00A.M. THE DAY OF YOUR PICK UP! Service is provided once per week. Items should be placed neatly, in containers, at the curb but not in the street.
On the following holidays, pickup is not collected and each day of the week following the holiday is pushed back one day. For example, if there is a holiday on Monday, then Monday's pickup will be Tuesday, and Tuesday's pickup will be on Wednesday, etc.
Pickup Holidays: Memorial Day, 4th of July (may change due to what day of the week July 4th falls on), Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day.
Limitations
Garbage pickup is for household waste only.
Items Not Included for Pickup
Carpeting, furniture, remodeling materials, lumber, roofing materials, hazardous waste, leaves,sticks, brush. Other items may be included in this list. |
